Maybe finally something good?
Tbh I agree. I think it's easier to sell the tournaments as an "event" to go to rather than promising high quality tennis 🫣. Just thinking of the success of the US Open last year with all the influencers attending and how badly the Netflix show flopped too. It'd be easier to create a show around the shenanigans of each tournament than relying on the top players being consistent. Not to sound like some anti-woke crusader, but it'd be best for the success of the tour to promote its competitive depth, excitement, and personality rather than "driving progress", "supporting mothers", and "representation", etc. These goals are valuable to the players and the WTA's future, and the tour should continue working toward them internally. But for the WTA to continue growing as a product, the #1 thing to promote to the public is its entertainment value.
And Alex Eala!No Keys, Sabalenka, Krejcikova, Noskova..... but we do get Jovic, Santamaria, 1996 Makarova and Kovinic so really focusing on the top players for the WTA
I'm surprised Emerson Jones hasn't also featured as a chosen junior but maybe there is more coming? Looks like Navarro wasn't filmed either, don't see Pegula yet.And Alex Eala!
Maybe WTA asked them not to post at the same time? I want to see more!
