What a year she is having, winning two 1000 titles and playing two grand slam finals. She is likely to finish the season ranked 3 in the world and she started ranked 41.

Second 1000 title of the season for Anisimova. Totally GOATed the first set then had a blip but domianted again from 2-2 in the decider. Definitely in-form player of the last couple of months. Let's go!!! :cheer:

Good week of tennis. Both Linda and Amanda have the game to win big and we see them both able to perform. I think the surface suits both a lot as well.
2nd 1000 for Amanda that should at least give her a smile after losing two slam finals.
Two young players having good results and it's not Coco and Mirra. I am all for more depth in the tour.

I would have been happy with either winning but was leaning towards Amanda because of her tougher draw and her previous finals losses.

And yet somehow that was a really concerning performance and has left me worried for Amanda and how she'd perform in a final against a more experienced opponent. A lot to celebrate and still so much to work on. She needs to develop a B game ASAP.

Sad for Noskova and I hope she doesn't take the loss too badly.

Finally another trophy after a few tough finals (even the struggle against Tadde Maria on grass). She was the best player this week, plain and simple. Impressive turnaround of her whole attitude, I’ll admit I didn’t think she would pull this sort of a season together when she was in the doldrums the last few years. :unsure2: Will be dangerous at the YEC if she holds this form and confidence. She’s a tough matchup for some of the other top 8.

Linda has ballstriking talent, perhaps needs one of those coaches who can transform her physicality like Kerber, Bertens, etc. to take her game to the next level. She got a bit down on herself at a few 30-30 moments and inevitably would lose the game. A nice result for her though.

Congrats Amanda. I never thought she could be this thirsty. You can literally feel how much she wants it now. When she’s struggling with her game she doesn’t stop fighting and when she’s flowing she’s just blowing people away. Noskova made a good account of herself in the second set. Both her serves and returns went up several notches and she was the better player in the second set. In the third set it seemed she ran out of gas and Amanda was determined not to let this one get away. Fantastic win and I’m so curious how she will do in Wuhan and yec. Somehow I don’t think she will be an easy out the rest of the year. Good luck to the rest of the tour.
