What a shame these two have to meet in the semifinals!

One of those semi-finals where I wouldn't mind either winning and I'm hoping it'll turn out to be an entertaining or potentially even a classic match!

Rybakina will destroy Krejcikova in easy straight sets.

 

Babs will have to play better than today, but she has a high enough ceiling to pull off the upset (only player to beat Iga twice in a finals, 2-0 h2h over Elena). Maybe not if it's Peak Pie. But if it's just good Rybakina, could happen. Krej has enough variety in her game to trouble Rybakina.

Happy for Barbora and her fans but I think a SF is more than enough. She'll probably enter in a 8 match losing streak after the Olympics so I prefer Elena to win the whole thing and have two Slams. She's way more consistent on tour.

 

And way less charming. Barbora has her own story to draw in the crowds. Got a lot of support against penko yesterday.

 

I don't know. I'll vote a little later. Babs has the 2-0 record over Elena but both on hard. Babs is a new good grass player so I dunno if she will have her number on grass. I do forsee that forehand spraying all over the place from Babs in the SF. It should be interesting. I give the tournament to whoever wins in this SF.

I’m going to stop betting against Rybakina until she has to face Paolini at least. She serves much better than Ostapenko, plays with more controlled aggression and even ventures to the net more. She should win.

 

Rybakina please. Krejcikova getting into the final and possibly winning her second Slam is not a very good thing IMO, considering that she has been pretty awful this year.

 

Who cares about the random months of the tennis season (the sunshine double being less decent recently too). And she was injured and ill. This would be less random than vondrousova as she has already made many slam doubles finals and won most of those. Its a novotna mk 2

This is on paper the greatest SF since Ons vs Aryna last year. Absolutely dream match I don't care what the naysayers are yapping. Possible classic match right there!

Hoping that Lena will prevail, and for my nerves I'd rather it being two sets but I am kind of scared by the level Babs displayed against Penko and Collins. Only two matches is perhaps to small of a sample size but I think this is a very tricky matchup for Elena so I hope she will come out firing on all cylinders.
The serve and return dynamics are going to be very interesting, Lena returned very well against Svitolina but Barbora finds better spots. Will Babs serve as much first serves as she did in her last two matches ? That could be key.

Barbora is more battle-hardened in this tournament, but Elena has just been playing at a higher level, not only in this tournament but for the past 2 and a half years.

I just don’t see a way forward for Krejcikova. Rybakina in 2.

 

Some slam losses she shows her b or c game aint all that. Peak level is different, granted.

 

SF is enough for Grandma Babs, Elena will win this I fear

 

You never know with Krejcikova as she sometimes has awful performances but I think she might surprise Rybakina.

Does Rybakina take the #2 spot if she wins this tournament? Krejcikova was quite clever slicing a lot of forehands at Penko but I still think she'd be vulnerable is that side is targeted effectively.
