I can actually see Gauff losing this' and would welcome and appreciate such scenario' but I'm afraid it won't happen.

 

I also think Coco will win, but I voted for Amanda. She has found another level the past few months, really the last year, and should have a lot of self confidence. I really hope she doesn't get frustrated and does what she is capable of.

 

I voted for Coco because I think her retrieving will frustrate Amanda into overhitting

 

For me it's 50/50. Amanda is a more talented ballstriker and I always prefer talented tennis players to win. However Coco is very tough mentally and is of course off the charts when it comes to defence/fitness. If Amanda keeps the head she wins, otherwise Coco wins.

Amanda is one of the few players I can see hitting through Coco on these courts, but she will need to be on it and recover well physically.

Don’t think this is a good matchup for Coco, but she could make a statement if she wins this. Will be important for the YE3 race.

I think it’s about Annisimova’s fatigue factor. She has the bigger and more offensive game. And her ability to crush returns will put even more pressure on Gauff’s already shaky serve.

 

I don’t see how Amanda can keep the errors down tbf. She hit 69 errors and won today. Against Coco she has to be far cleaner

I think Coco can make Mandy move more than Paolini did, Paolini seemed to focus on not losing the baseline exchanges in terms of pace and depth, but wasn't playing that smart tactically and was not spreading the ball throughout the Court. I think Coco is much better at doing that , and she can throw in all kinds of dinks, short slices, deep moonballs and semi-shanked shots that will drive Mandy nuts. I pick Coco in 3.

 

Depends how stable Gauff’s serve is. It took a marathon to get through Paolini, so I can’t see how she beats Coco unless the latter’s serve breaks down again.

 

If this was R3/R4 I’d say Anisimova in 2.

Fatigue will play a factor for AA, and Gauff is much tougher to beat once she’s found rhythm and confidence at the tail end of a tournament. I think it will go 3 and the amount of fuel that Amanda has left in the third will determine the winner.

 

Anisimova in 3. I’m just grateful she won’t lose to Paolini again.

 

I think Gauff probably wins this. The courts in Beijing seem to be playing very slow. And Amanda looks physically spent even before she has to deal with Coco's incessant retrieving.
