The longest toilet break that you remember? What are your thoughts on toilet breaks?

I find it ridiculous when someone takes a toilet break after 30-35 minutes long first set for instance, it is nothing else but gamesmanship. That toilet break for Krejcikova against Sakkari in the RG SF was too long for my liking. It was almost 10 minutes long iirc. Has anyone got a point / game penalty for their toilet break being too long?

It was almost 10 minutes long today too.

I don't really mind personally but I can see how it can be a fairness issue.

People always come up with the sweaty bras or tampons but some players take a 10 minutes break every time they lose a set and they aren't menstruated every damn day during the whole year as far as I know.

Didn't Sinner got in trouble because he didn't even use the toilet a few weeks ago? I remember Murray admitting he just used his break to scream in the mirror.

Most of these bathroom breaks are gamesmanship and everyone is doing it since Sharapova started it in the mid 2010s.

I am trying to remember which match or which player, but commentators in one of the matches were talking about a player who took a shower during the break. I also remember that Tsitsipas used to take breaks before the opponents serves, before it became shoe laces, now it's a racket change.

Every time it happens the tv commentators always go on and on about it. Apparently Krejcikova is a very sweaty person (not sure how the person who told me that knows!) so I’d assume she has to get to the locker room. Peel off her clothes and undies, shoes, any tapings, presumably sponge down, dry off then probably re-tape ankles/any other body parts, maybe time of the month products, redress (and yes, putting on a bra when sweaty is NOT fun!), put hair back in bun, visor, sweatbands etc. Oh. And maybe go to the loo!

After about 30mins of watching Nadal adjust his clothes and Djokovic bounce the ball, 7 mins for a change of clothes doesn’t bother me that much.

The older sounding male commentator with the British accent (really forgot his name) for this French, was complaining ad nauseum about everything. From players 'should play with broken rackets if they break them', to why players should be given time violations for abandoned serves to ball bounces and MTOs. He was such a downer...

they should have a time limit say 5 minutes and every minute after that they should issue a penalty point against the person that took it

There should be a strict limit of say 5 minutes. If they exceed it’s an automatic default.

I read once of three guys traveling through Mexico. They stopped off at a diner because they were feeling hungry. Halfway through the meal one of them got up to go to the toilet, and he NEVER came back. Kind of puts things into perspective.

Mikaelian's toilet breaks after being bagelled in 15 minutes:( 🙄. Also Wimbledon 2019, Mertens took a long toilet break(12minutes?) after that 2nd set, plus three MTOs in the 3rd, to disrupt Barbora's rhythm.

No issue at all. As for Bara. She has changed her clothes and lenses in Dubai. Also it depends how far the toilets actually are. I know some boys who takes 20 minitues for toilets every day😅 And there is no time set up for toilet break so there cant be any penelty.

I think if someone is taking a timeout of any kind...in between sets is the way to go...anything else would be unfair, so I honestly don't have a problem with it...

My rule has always been...no medical timeout or bathroom breaks or a break of any kind until the set is finished...it's not that crazy considering some of the other ridiculous times people have went to the bathroom or taken a medical timeout...like when it is just before their opponent is serving for the match or worst....IN THE MIDDLE OF A GAME!!!...

SHARAPOVA seemed to disappear for at least ten minutes anytime she lost a set.

I‘m totallyyyyy living in the past here but the bathroom break Schiavone took after dropping the first set to Laura Robson in less than 20 minutes at Wimbledon 2012 infuriates me to this day. 20 fucking minutes and she needed the bathroom?! BS
