this 2025 AO GS 2000 is :bs: since QINWEN flopped and all the other Golden Flowers followed her out the door

I won't be watching and barely following any of the remainder of the tournament

but I really want 1GA to humble RADUCANU :oh:

and I think GAUFF being "undefeated" again to open up the year will once again backfire when she faces OSAKA or SABALENKA :cheer:

if it will be a new 1st time Grand Slam winner, hope it is KEYS, she deserves it after her storied career and she is not that arrogant :cheer:

FAREWELL, until after the AO :bigclap:

It happens. Losing early gives some players a rest physically and more motivation mentally
There is still a ton of big tournaments when this is over

Do you only follow tennis for the Chinese players?

#4 ·
no, I like certain non-Chinese too, just not currently

My AO was over after Parks lost in quallies. Adios Amigos!

I wish Sakkari all the best and hope she wins it all.

Its hard to watch with no Babs :uncheer: buried don't mind watching players that aren't my favourite

Then you don't like tennis, sorry. Being a whiny baby when your fave loses that you don't care about tournaments anymore, doesn't make you a fan of the sport and you should start doing something else with your time.

It's a slam, so I will follow pretty closely whether my favourites win or lose. Having my favourite players still in the draw obviously makes me more excited about getting up at a particular time to watch a full match with nervous anticipation, but I'd still follow at least the results/highlights and try to watch the final in real time, even if I had no favourite to root for.

Also... I think it's a generally important thing to keep watching matches and following the sport if you want to do it very long term, since your favourites will retire (duh) and you have to give yourself the chance to become interested in/supportive of new players, which is hard to do if you just ignore anything not featuring your favourite(s).

YES, KEYS winning would be deserved and much more interesting than SABALENKA winning yet another one

Why do people - seemingly ones predisposed towards Chinese players - keep posting 'AO GS 2000' in titles? Is it really necessary to indicate the ranking points like this? I get that we refer to 'Masters 1000' and 'WTA 500' etc., but there's nobody out here talking of 'Grand Slam 2000' which is just plain confusing.

it has nothing to do with Chinese ... just a tradition here to mention the points the tournament award to the winner :secret:

I hope Karen Rosy Thorn Collins wins it all now! :cheer:

Vekic, Svitolina, Pavlyuchenkova would be great for the vets also, and Bencic/Jabeur would be a good story.

Raducadon't would be hilarious, maybe she can be an honorary flower for you @QINWEN-GOAT

Ah, finally we can enjoy the show with all golden floppers out.
