Maria participates in the prestigious tournament Les Petits As 2024

Today Maria in the quarterfinals in a difficult game, losing every set in the score, beats 6-2 6-4 JANA KOVACKOVA (Czechia) 13 years old who is "European Junior Tennis Player of the Year" in the category of girls under 14 years old and winner of the Orange Bowl for 14 years old in December 2023.

Way to go Maria, good luck in the semifinals.

Les Petits As .

Maria is still a child, I watched her play recently in Kazan in the final of the tournament, after each mistake looks at the parent with a questioning expression )
She is just too physically developed, her psyche is obviously not keeping up with it

Well inside she has no rivals of her age, but abroad she was shown only twice in France and Sweden, so you can not watch a lot of games with her participation.
One hope that she will start to qualify for the Junior Grand Slams.

Well with the first j100 Maria, it is interesting how will play j200 right from the quals, I think next year she will focus on j200 and J300, well and the ground is her weak spot so far.

The match was much more difficult than a week ago with her, tomorrow will be a test playing with the first seeded YUHAN Wang, it will be the 11th game in a row, every day ...
Today is a doubles match with Anna Bazderova.

Maria is now the 3rd highest ranked 2010-born player

JWR 159 (+114)

(However, she is only two weeks inside 2010 so most stat-heads will also be ranking her in a rolling-year based on mid-year dates, or some other formula as, at this age, it makes a lot of difference)
This is purely for statistics, I'm more interested in whether Masha can keep her winning percentage above 90 next season.
And the main goal for juniors is to get on the list of participants of Grand Slams without qualification.
The same example of Mirra, who won very little in juniors, shows that junior tennis is its own separate world.
