This topic is too interesting to ignore
It´s funny how often "wishful thinking" and "facts" are mixed, especially with regard to THIS topic.
An interesting standpoint I found here was, that due to the loniless on both tours, some "things" might take place we won´t never know and that this, mixed with "wishful thinking" leads to rumours and stuff. Don´t exclude ME from that rumour-making
It´s another fact though that we won´t get detais from the men´s tour as long as gays in a popular sport like tennis would be the "headline" for months or years as seen in the case of Navratilova or Mauresmo. A not to ignore fact is that the private life of a celebrity isn´t automatically something of public interest which could be justified to explore. Though we all would love to know what´s going on.
So we should all leave it as that and "tip" but not give "facts" as long as there aren´t any. So let´s sum up :
WTA : Most definetly, Martina Navratilova and Amelie Mauresmo are lesbians. Concerning Conchita Martinez, Patricia Tarabini and Jana Novotna we haven´t heard a word from them themselves, but due to their relationships with Hana Mandlikova and Gigi Fernandez, there´s no real doubt about that. We know about BJK and Hana´s relationships to girls, as well.
The Amanda-Lori-topic is a rumour, not more. A ridiculous one if you ask me only due to their doubles-playing and the fact that Lori is considered to be a lesbian. The rumours about Rennae and Lisa should be true though.
The gossip about Anna, Martina, Gaby and Steffi is just gossip though I heard about Gaby here for the first time and I´m a tennis fan since Steffi first won in Paris 1987.
ATP : There´s no gay man on tour OFFICIALLY.
Names often heard about are Mark P., Andy R., Jan-Michael G. and Jim Courier. The first three, I´m absolutely sure they are not. The rumours about Courier are fascinating because they could definetly be true, more than those about those beautiful guys ( M/A/J ) who are only considered to be gay due to their looks.
It was a fact not long ago though that in an article, three players of the - at that time - top50 were considered to be "in the closet" and are known to be gay but don´t live it openly. At that time, Jim Courier was still playing so I considered him to be ONE of THREE.
MY personal favourite in this was and still is a Swede because that time Enquist already has been a top level player and if you notice how often he changed is hair colour and stuff, I really thought he could be the one we are looking for.
If, one day, things come out like they did with Gottfried von Cramm early last century, I hope we come to a normaal behaviour regarding this topic and that it´s not necessary to ask this question.
Those who condemn this question, I can only tell you that it´s all about "who with who" and that the "Enrique and Anna" and lots of other "heterosexual gossip stories" are all the same. It´s not about the sexual intercourse we are interested in and the fascination of hidden gays on the tour but the celebrity gossip we are sharing here. For me, a Philippousis-Enquist-couple would be the same story compared to the Kuerten-Kandarr-couple we had one or two years ago!
