But nothing changed. We still don't know if players will be able or not to add an extra tournament to replace Wimbledon
The website I am looking at does not allow the extra tournament to replace Wimbledon. But I get it now, it makes sense and it is most likely they will do that. So yes, in that case, Kasatkina would need only 82+60=142 points which she can get by winning a WTA125. Sorry for the noise. We have to wait and see how they will calculate.

I do not think ATP or WTA will reconsider the Wimbledon points. I know you Brits feel different but outside of GB it feels Russian ban was quite an abrupt and unilateral decision which basically forced ATP and WTA to retaliate. It is not a matter of what it is right and appropriate anymore, it is a matter maintaining territorial integrity. So ATP and WTA would not back up unless there was a change from AELTC and it is too late for that.

It is very unlikely that USO will consider a different ranking system (counting Wimbledon points) than ATP and WTA, at least to decide who can enter the tournament. If they wanted to deliver the same message to Russia and/or show solidarity with Wimbledon they would have banned Russian players too, making it much harder for ATP and WTA to retaliate. At this stage USO will not risk any retaliation for zero messaging. However, I am not sure but they might consider a different ranking system for seeding without any risk of retaliation. But I firmly doubt the will do anything like that.
I think Wimbledon will ask USO to count their points.
Slams hold 90% of money and people’s interest.
If they stand together (i.e. first of all if USO counts Wimbledon points fully for their entry and their seeding), that will basically create a different ranking and will force ATP / WTA to either reconsider their decision, or have their ranking become irrelevant (the relevant one would be the one used by slams).

Of course it’s not guaranteed but if USO sides with Wimbledon, Wimbledon is probably winning. If USO and AO side with ATP / WTA, Wimbledon is losing. I still think USO and AO will side with Wimbledon, regardless of the fact that they didn’t ban Russians (they weren’t going to do it with male defending champion who is Russian). They don’t need to. All they need to say is “we will count Wimbledon’s points for our entry and our seeding”. That would be enough. I think Slams will band together in the end. Not guaranteed of course but I think it’s going to happen.

But for sure, even if it happens, it will take time and talks…it’s not happening before 11th July, so Emma is probably guaranteed her #10 spot.

I hope Canadian contribution will be fully acknowledged on EE. Besides Bibi, andreescufan deserves a lot of credit. Predicted Emma will never make it to #10 which of course made it happen sooner then we expected :). Please, please predict next that Emma will never win Wimbledon on TF
Ok, Ok....I get it, I'm always wrong in predictions......but I subscribe to the "broken clock theory" I like Emma, certainly did not think this would happen for her yet....BUT she has backed into it at the moment. The points fiasco helps her, as most likely she would not have been in top 10 officially after Wimbledon unless she had improved her R4 finish from last year and others did not move up.

To at least give this some legitimacy....hope Emma makes QF, to improve her finish from last year. I will not harp on this anymore, as I like Emma....but others in GM are going to tear her to shreds for this official top 10 ranking spot after Wimbledon this year if she loses early.:( I can see the sarcastic cheers in GM tomorrow if Emma loses to Van Uytvanck.....which looks very likely to me....."welcoming" Emma to the top 10 officially. REALLY hope Emma makes QF, but I very much doubt it.

Be prepared folks....I'll defend this kid with all I have here, not her doing for the rankings fiasco,,,,but that won't matter to GM folks.

Honestly who cares what GM think - many of the posters on Emma threads are hypocrites and haters. Many of them are jealous that Emma has achieved something that their favourites never will.

Emma looks very likely to make the top ten and after a rough first year on the tour with numerous injuries I am happy for her that she can add this to her list of achievements. It will mean less pressure on her post Wimbledon and beyond.

Ps sorry about Bianca’s loss yesterday - I was rooting for her

Emma was so unlucky that her grass court season was completely wiped out. It was a good opportunity for her to get and stay inside top 10 at least up to USO with very good chances to get inside top 8. I really hope the #10, even if brief, will bring her luck.
So true, she was incredibly unlucky with that injury.
But this is not the end of the world, her career just started, she will have many more grass seasons, and she will climb back in the rankings.
She will have many, many more opportunities :)

Emma will be in the top 10 officially now after Wimbledon. Congrats to her and all the members of The Empire who I know are happy. She literally came from nowhere to capture the imagination of tennis fans all over the world. R16 at Wimbledon and her improbable US Open Title are Cinderella like for sure, so it's not hard to see why she has done so well off the court as a result.

She is a beautiful, classy young lady who plays a beautiful, smooth game. I wish her all the best going forward, as she has dealt with the adversity she has faced in 2022 with a maturity beyond her years. Good luck ,kid.

What happened to you? :p

Daria Kasatkina has withdrawn from Lausanne next week, which means the only player that could take Emma's spot in the top 10 after that tournament would be Belinda Bencic who is 82 points behind Emma in the live rankings.

So Bencic would need to get to the SFs to overtake Emma.

What do the yellow cards mean?
it is TopCourt logo. I think those players are partners with TopCourt or something like that. If you click on profile of the player and hover over the yellow thing, it says it is topcourt logo and if you click it, it will redirect you to topcourt website.
