Osaka literally the only dangerous player in Swiatek half 🤦🏻‍♂️

Eala not playing? I hope the Wta budgeted for this . I would've thought she'd play as much of the Asian swing as possible?

I think this is one of the most balanced draws we've had all season.

Nice of them to make Maria and Bouzkova play each other :oh:

Sabalenka would have been favorite, so she turns down hundreds of thousands to take a break
That Andreeva section is super weak

How did you work that out, you did an alternative draw if she was the 1st seed and all the other seeds being pushed down below one number with Jovic not being seeded at all. You know that how it works right?

Edit:
If you did that then you would actually be right for once, she would of had seeds Kenin, Badosa, Svitolina, Andreeva, Ostapenko, Bencic and Yastremska in her quarter.

I think that’s smart for her at the moment. She needs to gain as many points as possible to make up for the eventual massive loss of points during Miami in March and she isn’t at her best to beat top 30 players right now.

Remember how Navarro crawled her way to the top 25 by playing ITFs even during the off season. That’s smart if one can play.

Truly horrible draw for Marta :uncheer: :uncheer: :uncheer: :uncheer: :uncheer: :uncheer:

Osaka starts getting good draws. See how tables can quickly change once you get into comfortable ranking position.

Crazy to see Jovic seeded in big tournaments already. Good for her! I bet her goal for this year was to try to make top 100, she started as 191.

No comment on Gauff’s draw until she actually faces Rybakina or Anisimova who she avoided like forever, especially Rybakina in the last 3 years. Anisimova understandable given she made a comeback since beginning of last year after a break.
Old familiar (beatable) faces as expected: Bronzetti, Sakkari, Fernandez, Bencic. The usual easy ride into the quarters.

Uh oh probable Alexandrova vs Krejcikova R2 match

our faves face off @maloofhoof :uncheer:
They’re both probably at least somewhat cooked from Seoul

I actually like this draw, it’s relatively balanced and has potential for some fun match ups if the seeds hold up.

Also good placements for floaters (Andreescu, Krej, Parks) who can do some damage if they are in form.

Curious to see how Mboko does. Has a nice draw…hope the wrist is ok. US Open was a wash with the quick turnaround and lingering wrist injury so have been holding judgement until this tournament to see how she backs up the Canada win.
