Yes: I didn't notice Emma again at all after her on court interview, and thought she'd not made it back for Katie's match, which, as the TV showed, and even commented on, Emma's German opponent taking her place on the team bench for the second rubber, produced a typical Emma fan reaction: unadulterated PANIC! :ROFLMAO: (In my mind, by the end of Katie's match, Emma was already being prepped for the first of about 14 separate surgical procedures...)
Heather and Olivia came and sat down for the final game and a half on the seats. Emma stood to the side. I do not think there were any seats left if at all.

Emma apparently had headed for ice bath and treatment as well as presumably press. She is through to next round and so best recovery she can make is super important including retaining flexibility. It doesn't matter about her opponent Jule ..she is not in the tournament and has a week to recover. Professional warm down and recovery is important for Emma.

Katie B match was so quick ..over before you knew it. In Boulogne Katie B did not come out to support Emma until at least 90 minutes into Match particularly after her first match ..so presumably she was following same professional behaviour to ensure she was best prepared for next round.

I noticed after National Anthems that Heather was first to lead the way to give Emma good luck hug and messages ...Harriet seem to have started to make a b line for her seat and circle back.

Katie B played really well but her opponent was truly shocking ...I even said shocking at one point ..someone else kept saying ..what was that. And it was not just a case of not letting her play..when she had some easy shots she was still shocking.

Jule first serve seemed to detiorate particularly after loo break. But her ground shots were better than Laura and she did some good drop shots and net play.

Beautiful sunny weather and blue skies today. Back from coast up in hills at Frigliana today.

Not only are Raducanu and Boulter the two highest-ranked female tennis players Britain has produced in the 21st century,

I assume they’re not counting Jo Konta as she moved to the UK from Australia at the age of 14 and intitially represented Australia. Katie and Emma were both fully formed in Britain. (I don’t think Emma’s first two years in Canada had much impact on her tennis 😅)

Interesting that the Italian sports team color is blue in all sports, but the flag is green, white and red. The blue dates back to the Savoy Royal family in the 14th C or something.

BTW while researching this valuable nugget of information, i discovered that the Azzurri play Les Bleus tomorrow in Nations Cup, which is a soccer tournament, or football if you prefer, lol.

Big battle rn between Fritz and Zverev
