Week 1:
10,000$ Hong Kong - Victoria Park
SINGLES: Mizuno KIJIMA JPN d. Akiko OMAE JPN 62 61
Mizuno Kijima, currently ranked 692, wins her very first ITF tournament. The 19 year old started to play on the ITF tour in 2013 mainly playing in her home country. She gave the ITF tour a serious try in 2014 and finished the year on position 769.
It was the third time Kijima and Omae played each other with a 1-1 record so far (both matched in 2014 on hard court). Akiko Omae, a 21 year old from Kyoto, currently ranked at position 567 was chanceless in the final by only winning 3 games. Akiko Omae peaked at position 222 in 2012 and already won two ITFs inlcuding one 25,000$ in Pattaya, Thailand in 2011. After a horrible 2013 season it seems Omae is back on the track, however on the lower level.
