My comments:

Jamea JACKSON:
Fresh air from the USA with Jamea who reached her 1rst WTA Tour final ousting 10th seed/n°36 Koukalova, 8th seed/n°30 Jankovic, 4th seed/n°29 Likhovtseva and got her ever best victory over Top seed/n°4 Sharapova before falling to erratic n°78 and former Top 10 Zvonareva. Jamea is now closed to break the Top 50.

Kyra NAGY:
Last week, Kyra won her ITF 2nd title in 2006 over 14 in her career! At $50K Zagreb, she created the biggest upset of the tournement ousting top seed/n°58 Kostanic en route and 2nd set/n°75 Garbin in a thrilling 3 sets final.

Olga POUTCHKOVA:
At Birmingham, Olga reached the 2nd rd of the main draw as a qualifer. In the qualies, she beat 7th seed/n°111 Osterloh and continued her run in the main draw ousting fellow qualifer n°97 Kutusova before losing to 4th seed/n°29 Likhovtseva.

Yevgenia SAVRANSKY:
Reaching the 2nd rd at $25K Grado, Yevgenia is breaking the Top 200. In Grado she fall to come backer n°523 A.Widjaja

Sara ERRANI:
A new italian comer in the Top 200, Sara is up 5 places to n°200 after her 2ns rd at $25K Grado where she lost to french qualifer n°407 Huck.

FASTER MOVERS IN THE TOP 10, 20, 50, 100, 150, 200

TOP 10:
Lindsay DAVENPORT n°6 (+1):
ithout playing, Lindsay is up one place, overtaking Kuznetsova.

TOP 20:
NO CHANGE

TOP 50:
Vera ZVONAREVA n°47 (+31):
Incredible Vera who is so erratic on the tour may be betrayed by her nerves..However, Vera is back this in the Top 50 this week after her surprising win at Birmingham Tier III $200K for her 4th career single title. In that tournement she ousted 7th seed/n°31 Chakvetadze, n°14 Schiavone and surprising n°81 Jackson for the title. There's still a long run for her to come back to the Top 10.

TOP 100:
Jamea JACKSON n°54 (+27):
see above

TOP 150:
Meilen TU n°105 (+30):
Breackthrough week for Meilen at Birmingham $200K Tier III where she reached the SF as a qualifer!! In the qualies she ousted 3rd seed/n°105 Mattek. In the main draw, she performed incredibly well beating 14th seed/n°41 indian star Mirza and 6th seed/n°27 Bartoli before losing to n°78 Zvonareva in 3 sets ...with some regret...she was leading 1 set and 4-2 up.

TOP 200:
Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez n°152 (+27):
Maria Jose keeps risong in the world ranking...still far away from her best n°61 (2001). She's competing well this year on the challenger tour. 2 weeks ago, she won Madrid $25K beating 8th seed/n°256 Liggan in final. The week after in a stronger challeger at $50K Marseille, she made it to the 2nd round with a good victory over n°129 Skavronskaia before falling to 3rd seed/n°101 Martinez Granados in 3 sets.

Hope that you'll enjoy your weekly thread and thanks for your cheering last week...don't hesitate to comment of course ;) ;) :bounce:

Impressed with Srebotnik hauling herself back after a terrible 2004 season. Bammer shows what hard work can do.

Sromova, Nagy. :hatoff:

Yes Srebotnik is pretty well settle in the Top 30 now....

As far as Bammer is concerned, she seems to play her best now...with the maturity as a mother...maybe she's playing with less pressure now...and I saw her play at the French vs V.Williams...and she really deserves to stay in the Top 50 considering her good baseline game.
