if you were now to rank the top ten yourself who would your top ten be and why?
here are mine

#1 mauresmo(playing great but well have to see who wins miami)

#2 sharapova(playing great and consistently, if she wins miami ill rank her as #1)

#3 justine(she might be higher if she wasnt injured and fatigued)

#4 kim(hasnt really played great this year and has been injured)

#5 lindsay(isnt in the best of form lately and is injured.

#6 hingis(playing well enough to get into the top ten but struggles against the very top)

#7 petrova(won doha and beat mauresmo but lost to her the other day)

#8 kuztnetsova( good win over martina and looking better than last year)

#9 ivanivic(beat mauresmo but lost to her the other day too.

#10 dementieva(doing well but lost to tati in miami and lost first round of aussie open)

these are my top ten but maybe i should put dementieva ahead of ivanivic.

sorry, but even if maria wins miami, she'll still be no2 to me. amelie has a GS, she doesnt. amelie has 3 titles, she doesnt. kinda obvious amelie should be number 1, regardless of the results of miami

and elena should be ahead of ana

At the moment I think the current WTA top 5 is pretty accurate, in terms of skills current achievments and recent results.
