In brief, it's Race points breakdown for every Race Top-10 player. But Year=End Rankings don't equal Race final results.

oh, ok. I thought it was the rankings at the end of the year. But if I read the thread title correctly, it really means top 10 projection in the Year-End (Race) Championships. silly me

well, i don't really like that it's a fixed number of tournaments included, i mean it's fair for the younger players who can't play all the tournaments they want, but still..... Plus people like serena and venus never have a full season, cause of injuries!!!

Oh, ok. So how come year-end rankings don't equal race final results?

Because ALL player's results are counted towards player's Race points but only 17 (5 mandatory and 12 best others) player's results are counted towards player's Ranking points.

It's a travesty that Miami is a mandatory event. They should either make all Tier I's mandatory or remove that flaw from the ranking system.

And before I get jumped on, here's my reasoning: who sponsors the WTA? Sony Ericsson. Who sponsors the Miami tournament? Sony Ericsson. This reeks of corporate favoritism.

I've never said this is exactly how year-end Top-10 will look like.
