Zi was chosen as partner for Anna Kournikova first training session this evening  .

She was happy to be on court and had a rather good performance.

Anna was very nice to her. Greeting her and her coach when they met and telling her nice words so that she feels comfortable on court in spite of the press around :) .

Anna played well. She has not lost her touch at the net :D .

The two players started with some warm-up then did some crosscourt drills before Anna started to pratice her serve and return of serve.

The two players ended the session with some points. I reckon it lasted around one hour. During this hour, the two players took around 4-5 breaks.

:D Thanks for the info Stephane. :D Was there a lot of people there?
Not many because this training session was not advertised. Maximum around 15 - 20 persons at a time.

I knew about it only because Zi was playing ;) .

Thanks :D

How was Anna's serve?
Anna serve was OK power wise. They were mostly out at the beginning but it was improving after some minutes. I hope she'll be ready this Sunday.

Anna had another training session this Saturday morning and Zi should have played with her again (Anna obviously appreciated the training session). Unfortunately, Zi had to catch her plane back to China and could not practice  .

Replacement was Napaporn Tongsalee. I watched only a little bit because from what I saw, Napaporn could not hit three balls in a row in the court, though Anna was not forcing it.

There is no way the tournament organisers will ask a player still in the competition to practice with Anna who is here for an exhibition.

There was a little hitting session today on court after the first semi-final between Anna Kournikova and some Thai kids :) .

And Zi is a nobody to someone who does not follow tennis. She beat Ashley Harkleroad in Japan this year.

Wow what a great opportunity for Zi! She must have enjoyed that!

If I was Anna and i looked at both Zi and Angies results this year I know I'd definitely pick Zi to practice with

Nope. Zi is someone very proud :) . It would have pushed her to do even better :D .

There were some photographers / cameras but Zi was back to them (Anna Kournikova was facing them ;) ).
