Roger Federer sputtered at the start, then rolled to a 7-5, 6-3, 6-0 victory over James Blake on Sunday for his third consecutive Pacific Life Open title. The top-ranked Swiss became the first to win three consecutive titles in the desert tournament dating to the inaugural won by Jimmy Connors in 1976.
