8 aces and 0 break points faced for Elena. Keeps her WTA Finals hopes alive with this win too.

Elena's serving is much better this week than in Beijing, i think Wuhan conditions suits her game much more.

Her return game was extremely wasteful, 50% of the BPs she couldnt do anything but if she had just converted 2 more BPs out of the rest (total conversion rate only 2/12), the match would have been over in an hour.

This is now 3-0 in their H2H, I think Elena loves going up against Linda's deep and pacy groundstrokes and can read Linda's serves well (she was hitting plenty of return winners) - she was using abbreviated swings off both wings and that caught Linda by surprise.

Linda seemed a bit flat footed at times, not sure if exhaustion finally caught up to her after playing 6 matches in 7 days.

That's now 3-0 H2H v Noskers now without dropping a set.
Didn't see it, but looks like a great serving day.
Pity about the BP conversion, it's one of her biggest issues.
Fortunately it didn't cost her today.

Elena served pretty horribly. Hope she picks up the percentage against Sabs.
That said, unless I totally misread the body language, I had thought Noskova might have injured her foot/ankle sometimes during the 2nd set. I didn't catch the end of the match, but perhaps Linda had managed to walk it off. Hope she's okay. Anyone know if she's done with the Asian swing or will she compete in another tournament prior to end of year?

This would make a good pub quiz.

Q: guess the player?

Not many would guess Noskova.
