Tougher match than the scoreline indicates - only 4 points separated these two. Dolehide with a LOT more winners, but also more UE's - her aggressive playstyle paid off. She is one of the biggest hitters and fastest servers on the tour, but like Baptiste, doesn't always feel confident enough to user her big power and plays around too much. Not today! Big win. She DID get lucky though getting LL after being smashed by Sanders in qualies, and then playing Day in R1. Faces Aryna Sabalenka in R2 in a big battle of two who have been dominating the serve-speed rankings for a while now!

Expected result, but good effort and good week from Kayljona Daystapenko (they’re twins separated at birth, right?) after a dire few years.

Dolehide looked a lot leaner than I remember. She was definitely the more commanding player in the rallies of the ground and her net skills often helped her to finish the points as well. She could very well make another push for the Top 100 in Singles.

Nice result for Day as well. After some pretty atrocious years she is steadying the ship it seems.
