The stupid live feed of RG from via Australia
is showing stupid Scud vs Alex Kim.

Anyway there was a horrible moment
during the 2nd set where SCUD shouts
out "FU*K YOU!!!!" to poor Alex Kim
during the rally. The Aussie commentators
said absolutely nothing against SCUD; they
just went on and on about how Alex Kim is
a player ranked in the 100's and shouldn't
be winning. Huh? I don't get it? Why wasn't
there even a point penalty? He yelled
"FU*K YOU!!" directly at Alex Kim- his opponent.
It wasn't something he said to himself, it
was directed with anger to Alex Kim- the opponent.

Is there some double standard here?

Hope SCUD eats dirt for the un-called for abuse.

This is weird. Why does Jen or Serena get
alot of flack from people in this forum- yet
SCUD doesn't? Is it something sexist?,
Aussie Jingoism? Racist?

Why does Marat or Xavier get point
deductions? Even Agassi received a point
deduction for swearing. Don't know why
SCUD is getting so much sympathy here.

There always has been a double standard as women are expected to behave like 'ladies' but men don't have to be 'gentlemen'. It also works for racquet abuse too. Point penalties are much mroe frequently awarded to men, and in some cases women who are expected to swear etc out of habit like Capriati (see Aus Open final 2002, she said the F word 3 times which normally means she would have been kicked out of the tournament, but she wasn't of course!)

It's about time all of this changed and men and women were treated equally and down to the letter of the rules, as there is no point in rules if they are going to be so blatantly broken time and time again.

Personally, I don't give any player flack for swearing, and think that those who do have way too much time on their hands.

See the Scud is really a poster on WTA World, sent some thread links from here to the tournamement officials in advance, and they understand the vocabulary he uses! :p
