Not as great a field as it could have been, but some interesting matches.

How will Marta be, hopefully okay, tough match potentially for Pliskova.
Good to see Mertens back, it's been awhile.
Kerbers section is not bad.

Interesting to see if both Friedsam & Pera both play, ALF retired today against Pera in Karlsruhe with some injury, and Bernie has reached the final there tomorrow, but has a strapping high on her right thigh, so may be doubtful for here.?

why is Sloane playing this? :spitrofl: we know she'll give 30% and lose before QF

Pliskova could cruise through this draw
Saville is my pick for 2nd QF, Cirstea/Konjuh in 3rd , anyone from 4th (Gracheva?)

heck, I could see a Saville d Cirstea final

I dont see anyone in good form

Like any pre Slam event, Strasbourg is such a WC because you dont really know who really wants to win the tournament.

Im picking Sloane. She knows she cant go deep in slams anymore and will try to vulture some cheap points as she knows others will tank. I know this seems contrary to what most feel her attitude would be.

Better draw than Rabat, which is not surprising given the geography of both.

Not a bad call actually. Sori is pretty decent form and if Aussie Dasha is healthy I could see her battling through. One player whose commitment is rarely in doubt which you couldn't say about the entire field even if it wasn't the week before a major. :oh:

Pliskova, Kerber and Stosur, what year is this?
Maybe Gavrilova will do something

The seeded players (Stephens excluded) or the French are probably motivated for a win, but I doubt Pliskova and Kerber care to win Strasburg. The rest are there to pick up some cheap ranking points or match time or for one last hurrah on the French clay (i.e Stosur), and the title is just an added benefit.

I think both Juvan and Cirstea could beat Sasnovich.
Expert opinion right here LOL. Sasnovich beats both of them haha.
