Why is there such a discrepancy in the list posted on GM vs this list?

because top 50 players are not officially allowed to enter 125K via entry list

but the tournament is basically including those players because they are giving them WC :p

Cause that was a pre entry-list updated about 8 days ago (if not earlier) on their website , including some Top 50 players . And Top 50 players (at the entry deadline, that is 3 weeks before the tourney begins) are forbidden to play WTA 125k without a WC. There are 4 WCs for Top 50 players in San Antonio.

This is the correct list ! ;)

It's 26 direct acceptances + 2 top 50 wildcards + 4 standard wildcards. No qualifying.

Top 50 players can't enter but can accept wildcard (either top 50 or normal one), provided that they are out of Indian Wells before 4pm on Sunday.

WTA 125 on the 2nd week of a Grand Slam/Premier Mandatory is allowed to have four players ranked 11-50.

I didn't know they can give out 9 Top 50 Wild Cards :eek:h: .

That was a pre-EL. Top 50 players are allowed to enter on the pre-entry-list but are not taken into consideration on the final one at the MD entry deadline .

Also Brengle and Duque-Marino are missing from that pre-entry-list (list which was updated days ago) and they also put 32 names on that list, which is wrong (31 + Wild Card for Bellis)

Oh I like that, providng players an opportunity to play week 2 if they lost early. I assume Bol will be the same and potentially won't have qualifying either?

San Antonio is the only WTA125 with no qualifying. Carlsbad the only one with just 8 players in Q. The rest of WTA125 have a 16 players Q draw.
