Thank you Spiceboy! What would Tennis Forum do without you? ( I asked Jan Michael Gambill he had no comment.) I am so glad to see Cami G. in the field, hopefully she recovered from Covid. Hope she leaves Dad home, her mother must be gorgeous because, well, frankly I will leave it at that.

With people moving up where is Schmiedlova on the Q list now?

Nadiya is not defending her title 😥 . Hip problems (hopefully not an injury, working in her rehab)

Zvonareva, Dodin, Minnen, Wang Yafan and Voegele should move into MD if not already withdrawn.

Zvonareva is still playing doubles in Madrid.

EWS is the highest ranked unseeded player lol. Hopefully she (and presumably Heisen) can make the doubles cut. Surely Stefani isn't playing doubles here, a top 30 player in a 125k would be ridiculous.

Why 3 byes in a 125k?
Can’t they fill it even with French ?
Was it because late withdrawals and none on site? - confused and perplexed

plus where is the qualies wc, wasn’t it monnet?

Monnet is playing Prague $25k qualifying. I guess there are rules/fines for withdrawing from an ITF late to play a WTA.

Why not? They are in Europe already, have to wait a full week to play Rome and are on a 4 matches losing streak, so instead having to pay for a club to train, hotel, food, transportation, they will have all this for free while they earn some money and get much needed practice on clay. They are just brand new top 30 doubles players so it's not like they are millionares or something... I would do the same.

It may be still in France but St.Malo is one of the WTA stops more difficult to get in. First you have to fly into the regional aiport of Rennes and from there you still have 75 km to the site. Or fly to Paris, then take the train to Rennes and then another train to St. Malo. A 5 hours journey within France. Not really worth the money if you are not kinda sure to get in, especially in these pandemic times with all the restrictions to move around.
