Why is it I always check the no. of posts when reading these kind of messages? :p
Obviously not! Serena would have won JP Morgan, Acura Classic, Toronto all of the tournaments!
The place where Serena would get her No. 1 back if she lost it before would be at Toronto!
would, could, should, you don't buy things with those words.

Kim was already very very VERY close to the #1 spot before Serena's injury! Nobody can also say that Serena would have won all these tournaments. She was injured, it's a part of the sport. Kim was healthy to play, so I don't see your point.
yes, but the injury helped a little.

BTW, if the poll was "if Serena was fit and playing a full schedule" then I might have vited "no", but if she sticks to 12 tournaments a year then Serena will pretty much have to win 3 slams every year to get back to #1.
Yeah but probably not until after the usopen- and she would have lost it during the indoor season aswell but serena can't be no.1 again this year...

You mean she can´t do it?! Remember she already had two even before the Open started.....plus I think she will take the slams anyday. If she has three slams in the year, Kim then would look even more foolish.
Serena had plans to play the Bank of the West, Acura, and JP Morgan Chase to try to add to her total and distance herself from Kim, but because of the injury she couldnt do it. So dont act like Serena would've just sat on her ass and not done anything.
Not yet. Kim wouldn't have reached #1 til September 8th.

Tell them the way it is!! ;)
who cares? serena is hurt. serena is not playing. kim is number one. move on.
I think that if Serena played, Kim would not be number 1 so quick, but next week, after US Open.
Considering Serena played 2 tournaments out of the 3 she entered, (which is what she always does), and reached at least the finals in those 2 tournies, Kim could still pass her.
The injury helped.

If you look at the summer, the #1 ranking SHOULD have been on the line at the US Open.

Bank of West--both playing, but Kim had RU to defend--AD Serena
Acura--Both playing, but Kim had QF to defend--AD Serena
LA--Both playing, but Serena had QF to defend--AD Kim
Canada--Kim playing, and had nothing to defend--AD Kim

It would have been VERY close.

I agree! I think Kim wouldn't have been #1 until after the open.

AAARGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
