WMTA Christmas Exhibition

Our first tournament of the year is an exhibtion. This exhibition shall be held on the small island of Singapore, a convenient stop for players from Europe, Asia, North and South America before they head over to Austrialia for the Australian Hardcourt season.

Players can check in at the posh Mandrin Hotel, just minutes away from the tournament venue.

The venue for this exhibition is next to sea, where players can relax enjoying the sea breeze if they wish to, like everyone should during an exhibition. There are many practise courts for players to tune-up before the season starts along the coasts. Enjoy your stay and treat the locals to your best tennis

Andre Agassi, a father now.
Will fatherhood take the fight out of him?

Brazilian wonder, Gustavo Kuerten.
Is he a one surface wonder? Or can he play on Deco Turf as well?

Sorry James Blake. I didn't see the e-mail. You were supposed to have committed yourself by posting in the commitments thread, but you're in

Roger Federer, you in too. Sorry for the little problem.

<marquee>As a form of apology, Roger Federer and James Blake have been treated to a delicious meal by the organisers and an all expense paid scuba diving trip has been planned for them!!</marquee>
Big-serving belarussian, Max Mirnyi.
Will the "Beast" live up to his seed?
13-time Grand Slam champion, Pete Sampras.
Will Pete drop his 1 1/2 year title drought?
2001 US Open and Master Cup Champion, Lleyton Hewitt.
Is Lleyton a complete player after winning such big events?
American tennis sensation, Andy Roddick.
Will he live up to the hype?

BIG MATCHES AT 2001 WMTA CHRISTMAS EXHIBITION

The first event of the WMTA Tour will already start with some nerve-cracking first round matches.
PATRICK RAFTER vs. JUAN CARLOS FERRERO
The soon-to-be-29 Patrick Rafter will clash with the young Spaniard Juan Carlos Ferrero in a promising battle. The serve-and-volley Aussie could have an advantage on Deco Turf, but Ferrero has already proved himself by winning Dubai earlier this year. Prediction: Rafter in three sets
YEVGENY KAFELNIKOV vs. ANDRE AGASSI
Andre Agassi, who recently became a parent after the birth of his son Jaden Gil Agassi, whose mother is one the biggest female tennis players Steffi Graf, will face Yevgeny Kafelnikov from Russia, who is already father of two kids.
Both players do very well at this surface and there is no favourite. Prediction: Kafelnikov in three sets.
LLEYTON HEWITT vs. ALEX CORRETJA
After winning both US Open and Tennis Masters Cup, Lleyton Hewitt could be considered the main favourite for this battle. But Corretja, a real fighter, can also dominate on harder courts than his "home" clay, like he did in 2000 Indian Wells. At the end. Personally, I think Hewitt is the most confident player of the moment and he oust Correjta in straight sets.

Kris...Tommy Haas is not playing this tournament, so he can't play doubles. He never signed up, so I guess you'll have to make do with another player for now.

TOP PLAYERS ARRIVING IN SINGAPORE
Ecuador's #1 Nicolas Lapentti.
How will he debut at WMTA?
Britain's best ranked player Tim Henman.
Will the Singapore courts be fast enough to help his agressive serve-and-volley game?

Yankee veteran Michael Chang.
Can the 89 Roland Garros champion storm a comeback and play his best tennis at the old-20's?
Morrocan Hicham Arazi.
Will the talented Arazi bump the hard-hitters at his first event?
