I know CLijsters would be #1, but does Justine have a chance too??

Really, I don't think even if Justine beats Kim in San Diego final that she will pass Kim in the rankings.

Justine can in theory threaten Kim's position, but her result would have to be fantastic, like win San Diego or Canadian Open AND US Open and with Kim losing early in LA, Canadian Open and US Open.

of course, after the US Open it's different, Justine has Linz and nearly nothing else, Kim has Filderstandt and LA but the big prize is in LA where Kim defends 750 points.

It's nearly certain that Kim will end the year as # 1.

I do not quite agree. It's not the defending that is really the issue here. It's not really very likely Justine will catch up in the next weeks, as long as Kim can hold on to her 750 points earned. This means the chances of Justine taking over before the end of the year have to be limited.
Than it's all a matter who's going to be picking up the most points from now till year end, and in that race Kim's already ahead by 350 points.

In order to get to no. 1 she has to pick up more points in the weeks to come. Not that's impossible, it just doesn't seem very likely.
