Klara was terrible in the first set to the point where I left the court. From the very first game of the match she was negatively gesticulating to her support group and it looked like she'd just have one of those days where her petulence would get the better of her. She was okay off the ground but the serve was a disaster in the first set. She served a few DFs and Govortsova was standing way inside the baseline to return her puffball second serves. Klara went for a potty break and I went for a wander too but it must have worked because she played a blinder in the third set. Govortsova played well in the first set and was playing with good controlled aggression and keeping Klara behind the baseline with good depth but she doesn't have much natural timing and couldn't maintain this level in the third set and was missing a lot. Klara's FH worked a treat in the third set though and she was sweetly timing a bucket-load of winners with her in-to-out FH behind particularly effective. I was sitting in front of Klara's coach who was 'pojding' non-stop throughout the entire set but despite her demeanour, Klara actually seemed up for the fight and she was pojding and fistpumping a lot which is nice to see.

if she continues to play like this, if it's true, she'll change her mind. why retire playing like this. it's a huge motivation
