not a good match at all. Fran's DFs were horrid, Petra couldn't convert all the 10 BPs in the first set and converted her first on Fran's DF. She was still missing those easy shots

I didn't really watch the final set but in the first and half of the second sets the rallies almost always had Petra making an error to concede the point

Well...that sucked.

First two sets were absolutely terrible. Couldn't put the ball in the court on big points, missed SO many easy FH and volley putaways at the net. Shots that were no-brainers last season have suddenly become wildly inconsistent. You never know when she's going to hit a winner or the back screen.

I hope she steps it up for Serena. I thought she would at the French against Sharapova and that didn't turn out so well. :shrug:

Schiavone was annoying at the beginning of the third when she refused to play.

Glad she managed to pull it off eventually and finally find some form at the end. Hopefully it will give her a boost of self-confidence going into the quarters and not play like she did for the majority of the match today.
