I suppose she may want to finish her filming for the day and then fly to LA. Not because 'street time' is more important than her sister, but it may not be possible to re-schedule another filming day, contracts etc.....
I was thinking the same thing.
She may be contractually obligated.
I'm sure she'll fly in ASAP.

God bless them!

I hope they are ok! This is so mad. I hope this brings to light the situation in the US on gun laws.

Dava i know how you feel

when i found out i couldnt stop shaking and was close to tears (i never seem to cry)
I had a little cry, but it was more out of relief (it might sound insensitive, but I got a fright and I was just relieved it wasn't Venus  ). But I'm still so damn shocked. They all seemed so nice and close-knit and full of life .

I was still in a daze after hearing Friday morning that John Ritter died and now I am just numb.

It's not your intention to be insensitive,
I know exactly what you were feeling.

i know what you mean....someone goes to me "i know i shouldn't say this....but imagine if it was Venus or Serena". that shocked me. but its not, and i'm more than upset that it was Yetunde. i felt a bond with her, you know? anyone Venus or Serena loves, i guess i got love for them too.

and i know how much their family must be hurting right now. and knowing how Venus and Serena love their family so much, i'm really upset

Here's the latest from the LA Times.

The oldest sister of tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams was fatally shot early today following a dispute on a Compton street, authorities said.

Yetunde Price, 31, of Corona, was shot shortly after midnight in the 1100 block of East Greenleaf Boulevard, according to a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

As of midday today, SWAT officers entered the house where they believed as many two suspects were barricaded, but the suspects apparently had fled.

The shooting occurred as Price and a male companion were driving in a white SUV and became involved in an altercation that lead to gunfire, sheriff's officials said.

Price was taken to Long Beach Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead about 12:15 a.m., a law enforcement source said.

The Williams sisters are en-route to Los Angeles. Neither sister participated in the recent U.S. Open because of injuries. The two had met in the Wimbledon Finals with Serena winning the title.

Venus was in New York for two days of personal appearances when she received word of her sister's death. Serena had been filming a cable television series in Toronto. Although the sisters were raised in Compton, Serena and Venus have lived in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, since the early 1990s. More recently, Serena has been spending time in Los Angeles to develop her acting career.

I highly doubt it. How can you possible concentrate on acting when you've just found out your sister has died?! No matter where you work, you're allowed time off in case a family member dies. They'll just have to reschedule, this is an emergency.

Serena filmed the episode on the 8th so this shouldn't even be a discussion.

RIP Yetunde
