No, few people would be a match against both the Belgiums (btw, did Luxembourg just become another Belgium or something? )Jen'sFan said:Can anyone stop their dominance next yr. If so, who?
lol, looks like your post had no effectJosh said:Belgians!![]()
Well, it's a useful place to annex (more useful than some place like Lichteinstein, San Marino, Andorra, The Vatica...oh wait). I guess you finally showed that 'Duchy' who's boss.Josh said:Well it's nice to know that we've finally annexed Luxembourg. All our money was in their banks anyway...![]()
3 titles and one Grand Slam Justine won during the time the Williams were still around. in one tournament and in 1 Grand Slam she defeated Serena. When the sisters were away, Justine won 2 titles and a Grand Slam.bandabou said:As long as there are hardcourts and grass the sisters won´t be stopped. The question is: Can the Belgians repeat this years magic?! The sisters have already proven that they can anywhere against anybody. The Belgians?! was this year a fluke aided by the Williamses abscence or have they really became elite?!
That doesn´t say much, ´cause Justine´s season only lasts during the clay-season anyways! Normally she wouldn´t even have won after Roland Garros, so she did profit from the Williamses´s abscence...shap_half said:3 titles and one Grand Slam Justine won during the time the Williams were still around. in one tournament and in 1 Grand Slam she defeated Serena. Dubai and Berlin the WS weren't there.shap_half said:3 titles and one Grand Slam Justine won during the time the Williams were still around. in one tournament and in 1 Grand Slam she defeated Serena. When the sisters were away, Justine won 2 titles and a Grand Slam.
Hahaha......good one! The thing is that the gap between the sisters on hardcourts/ grass and clay, isn´t NEARLY as big as the gap between Justine on clay and on other surfaces.shap_half said:Well no one thought Serena or Venus would win or even get into the second week of RG but they did last year didn't they probably because Justine was sick. So if the sisters can do it again (which I'm sure you all will say), then I say Justine can do it again.
And Kni, Justine won Berlin last year over Serena, so looks like Justine wouldn't have had a problem disposing of Serena again this year.
That was one match last year. Serena beat her the next week and went on to win RG. Justine wasn't and still isn't utterly dominant on clay.shap_half said:Well no one thought Serena or Venus would win or even get into the second week of RG but they did last year didn't they probably because Justine was sick. Exactly....whereas the sisters are TOTALLY and UTTERLY DOMINANT on hardcourts. No questions asked....Knizzle said:That was one match last year. Serena beat her the next week and went on to win RG. Justine wasn't and still isn't utterly dominant on clay.
Caelestia is totally right.caelestia said:Geez people, did we have to bring the same barrel of crap into yet another thread...
I was enjoying poking fun with Josh at the 'Belgiums'
Do you realize we're comparing 4 players...two of whom haven't played since Wimbledon and the the other two who haven't had a chance to play them since Wimbledon. The whole argument is 'if that' 'then this' or 'shouda, coulda, woulda'. There's always going to be excuses both ways and I dunno, I might be dumb or something but I don't see people changing their opinions of their faves because of what a fan on their rival told them on an internet message board.
besides, were all 4 even playing their best tennis at the same time? which opens the door for excuses on both sides
