Well it's nice to know that we've finally annexed Luxembourg. All our money was in their banks anyway...;)
Well, it's a useful place to annex (more useful than some place like Lichteinstein, San Marino, Andorra, The Vatica...oh wait). I guess you finally showed that 'Duchy' who's boss. :lick:

Who's next on that list? Spain and France and Germany? (show them who the real 'colony' is) :tape:

to tell u the truth, the williams do and know how to stop the belgians. the question is, who can stop the willies? being out for serveral months doesn't mean they are being stopped.

i think dementieva is still gettin into a consistent groove, i think after australian she may be 5 or 6, cuz i think lindsay next year will be her retirement year. along with monica seles, but i think you will see, the willie and the belgians 1-4 no speical order, and elena at number 5, with a couple wins over the belgians only.

the clay season is only a month, at serena and venus' major losses this year came to clay only, so its gonna be hard next year to see if they will be dethroned or stopped.

As long as there are hardcourts and grass the sisters won´t be stopped. The question is: Can the Belgians repeat this years magic?! The sisters have already proven that they can anywhere against anybody. The Belgians?! was this year a fluke aided by the Williamses abscence or have they really became elite?!

3 titles and one Grand Slam Justine won during the time the Williams were still around. in one tournament and in 1 Grand Slam she defeated Serena. When the sisters were away, Justine won 2 titles and a Grand Slam.

That doesn´t say much, ´cause Justine´s season only lasts during the clay-season anyways! Normally she wouldn´t even have won after Roland Garros, so she did profit from the Williamses´s abscence...

Really think she´s gonna win another U.S. open?!

Well no one thought Serena or Venus would win or even get into the second week of RG but they did last year didn't they probably because Justine was sick. So if the sisters can do it again (which I'm sure you all will say), then I say Justine can do it again.

And Kni, Justine won Berlin last year over Serena, so looks like Justine wouldn't have had a problem disposing of Serena again this year.

Hahaha......good one! The thing is that the gap between the sisters on hardcourts/ grass and clay, isn´t NEARLY as big as the gap between Justine on clay and on other surfaces.

Sure clay is the sisters "weakest" surface...but weak with the sisters is only relative. With Justine weak is really WEAK! Before this year Justine hasn´t really done much on anything besides clay. whereas the sisters even BEFORE Justine came were already winning on clay and beating better clay-courters than Justine.

And don´t exagerate, ´cause Serena has reached at least the fourth round in all her appearances at RG, except ´99 and the qrtrs since ´01... Heck Justine didn´t even reach the qrtrs at the U.S. open before this year!!

That was one match last year. Serena beat her the next week and went on to win RG. Justine wasn't and still isn't utterly dominant on clay.

Exactly....whereas the sisters are TOTALLY and UTTERLY DOMINANT on hardcourts. No questions asked....

If Justine can lose to ANNIKO KAPROS on clay!!!!, then the sisters surely can beat her and win RG.

Geez people, did we have to bring the same barrel of crap into yet another thread...
I was enjoying poking fun with Josh at the 'Belgiums'
Do you realize we're comparing 4 players...two of whom haven't played since Wimbledon and the the other two who haven't had a chance to play them since Wimbledon. The whole argument is 'if that' 'then this' or 'shouda, coulda, woulda'. There's always going to be excuses both ways and I dunno, I might be dumb or something but I don't see people changing their opinions of their faves because of what a fan of their rival told them on an internet message board.

besides, were all 4 even playing their best tennis at the same time? which opens the door for excuses on both sides
