That's exactly right. Katarina Srebotnik, who was originally scheduled to open against Mary Pierce, is now the #33 seed and will fill Venus' spot in the draw. Pierce will now play a qualifier in the first round as well. The USTA hooked Venus up with a cakewalk quarter, and now Jennifer Capriati will benefit from it.
