Will any of the Russians make in LA?
There are 8 Russians going to the tournament; the highest off which is Sharapova whomust be extremely confident having beating Kim in San Diego. She has a potential quarter final against Safina, where she will want revenge after the Roland Garros defeat. You cannot count out Dementieva. When she is firing on a hard court, she is an awesome player who can beat anyone. The question is, will it be her day?
Even though Petrova is the 2nd seed, I don't think much should be expected becuase she's coming back from injury.

Match of the first round:
Up-and-coming Russian Maria Kirilenko against the mighty Serena Williams. This should be a good match. It will probably have a similar outcome to their previous meeting at Roland Garros; although both players are at different stages in their careers. Unfortunately, I'm gonna have to go against Makiri; with Serena winning in 3 sets.
