They're just on entry lists, Serena might be committed to Stanford, Kerber wasn't a YE top player so she has only 8 mandatory tournaments, a top 10 player doesn't have to commit to any MM tournaments. Radwanska and Kerber can withdraw at will for sure.

Billie Jean King has nothing to do with Stanford. Serena will show up there because the tournament is owned by IMG, and they'll put a little something extra in her racquet bag when she leaves London.

Palermo is such an utterly random tournament for Radwanska to have signed up for in the first place, that they're surely giving her a big fat appearance fee, so I doubt she'll be turning that down.

I hate to say this but I don't think Serena will be showing up to Stanford this year with the Olympics a few weeks away after Wimbledon. This is why I haven't even purchased my usual tickets for the week. Also I'm going to the US Open this year so I'll save my dough for that. lol
