the consolation with Wimbledon is that while she will lose a decent # of points, Pliskova and Sabalenka will lose even more

So in general, she'll need a strong pre-Wimbledon while those around her are not good or a strong post-Wimbledon before the USO.

If that doesn't happen but she can somehow retain her USOpen title or the extreme least get to the final, she'll have more opportunities after that.

Well she's the highest ranked in Nottingham, and only Sabalenka of the top 10 is playing a tournament that week, so she could very well get to it. Her highest seeded competitors are Giorgi, Cornet, Riske, Zhang, Tomljanovic, & Haddad Maia.
