I am the first one to say to myself: Man, I miss the Venus Williams of 2000/2001, she was dominant, confident and blah, blah... I want her back. But when I think about it I realize that she lost the Australian 02 while playing injured, and then she lost at the French this year. Other than that, she has made it to the final of every Slam, falling only to Serena.
How many of you can honestly say that if Serena hadn't been around, Venus wouldn't have won all those Slams? Venus' only trouble is the mental strength that Serena has over her. Venus is still a fierce competitor who knows she can beat everybody... and she does. Other than Serena, who has obviously become more dominant than everybody else, a healthy Venus is still a dominant force at the Slams. Has anybody else reached 5 Slams in the last two years?
I just want to know if I'm the only one that thinks this way around here.
