He's American. He's hot. And he's good. And popular. Thus, he'll get a lot of haters.

I find his game boring. I keep being told that this is "exciting tennis"... well give me some "boring" players like Coria or Nalbandian anyday, thanks.
I find it annoying that I can't watch tennis on TV without hearing about how he is the long lost twin of Jesus. Although he deserves praise now, that doesn't erase the past three years from my memory, when he did not.
And I don't find him attractive in the least, so I can't even lust after him.

I don't know him. So, as a tennis fan, whether I like him or not is irrelevant.
I'm as happy to see him on the tour as I am to see any of the New Balls.
I like competitive matches. If Andy vs Whoever is a competitive match, I'm happy to share in the network's delight in showing it to me.
Once again, since I'm a tennis fan, I know that:
*Andy is not the only player in the ATP;
*Andy is not the most talented or most accomplished player in the ATP; and
*I have always vehemently resented people, countries, and institutions dictating who and what I prefer in life.
I wish him all the best in whatever he pursues. But, I was watching tennis before Andy was born and, God willing, I'll be watching this great sport after he finishes his tennis endeavors.

Every celebrity with a lot of media attention will be dislike for all sort of reasons by a lot of people

What is this garbage about "valid" reasons? If you dislike something, you dislike it. Who cares what the reasons are? There are people who hate JCF because he bleaches his hair. There are people who hate him because they find him arrogant. Who the fuck cares?
