I wish these polls could accept more than 10 options

I am thinking Garcia, Sevastova, or Barty will have a random breakthrough at some point. All potentially this year. They all have the game and the mentality (despite a few recent slip ups for the three of them), all it will take is the right draw and timing.

Having said that, last year Coco has proven that at the slams and at Fed Cup that she plays best when a lot of people are watching. And like Wozniacki finally winning a slam, i'm sure Svitolina will eventually prove her detractors wrong and break through, probably sooner than later.

Vesnina will embarrass whole field by beating world #1 Simona Help in RG's final.

Fancy a dark horse run from Barty at Wimbledon.
Otherwise Svitolina the obvious choice for many but needs to prove herself again on the big stage after AO when everyone had her as SF lock.

Just please not Vandeweghe, but she stands a better chance than some on this list

Svito has the ability to get there. Eventually she'll overcome the hurdle of the R16/QF stages and have a deep run. She's a mature player.

Garcia could become a multi-French champ imo but not yet.

Voted Svitolina just because if she doesn't get there first, she'll get there eventually.

I have a sneaky suspicion Coco will get there first. The horror!

High probability in future based on upward trajectory
- Svitolina

Moderate probability
- Vandeweghe
- Garcia
- Goerges
- Konta

Could happen, but will need more work/experience first and stars to align
- Mladenovic
- Barty
- Mertens

Probably not
- Sevastova
- Rybarikova (age constraint, Wimby SF was a surprise)

Barty's issue is that she needs time to adapt. Got some great shots but telling weaknesses (movement, ROS, topspin BH), she may hide these better on grass.

No Bacsinszky in this poll?
RG is next and she went SF-QF-SF there the last three years.

Definitely Caro.
Well if not Kiki, or Elina. Or maybe Barty.
Coco could also bash her way on a good streak, Goerges too I guess.
So Caro, no doubt.

The most and the most I would like Julia Goerges. Girl is a real talent and it's a pity she doesn't even have a slam QF till now. But I'm sure she'll come with a big surprise for me one day.

Right now, a little closer are Queen Elaine Svitolina, Konta or Garcia to do it (which I'd also love).

A big surprise would be Mlads:inlove:
