Iga needs the AO
Sabalenka needs RG and Wimbledon

Tbh I think they will both get it.

Iga first surely as she’s not bad at AO and her intensity and determination is a bit stronger than Saba’s imo.

There are greater chances that Iga will win at least once the next Two years than Saba getting both RG and Wim in that time.

As opposed to the finessed ways of Serena Williams winning there?

Get a grip. Wimbledon will always favor fast court players and big hitters, especially big servers.

For a 27 year old player who has only won 2 grass semi-finals in her career (against half retired Radwańska 7 years ago and Shelby Rogers of all people), the general belief she's somehow always the favourite at Wimbledon is kind of odd.

Iga won 2 SFs this year alone.

This is one of those things where someone invents a strawman and argues against their own strawman. Who are all these people claiming Sabalenka is "always the favourite at Wimbledon"? It's been considered the most unpredictable slam every year for sometime and she's always considered one of the favorites (rightly so given all her deep runs at Wimbledon) - but I don't see all these people making her out as "always the favourite at Wimbledon".

Sabalenka is 30/12 on grass with a 71.4% win rate. She missed WB twice both times out of her control where she would have gained a few more wins each.

For comparison, Bartoli has a 74% winning percentage on grass. Radwanska has a 68% winning percentage in grass. Kvitova despite two championships is at 76%

She has more than an outside chance to win it, multiple times.

Iga ALREADY has Career Surface Slam...
"Surface slam" is bullshit. First, its a lie anyway- courts at AO are not the same as courts in USO.
I have little conspiracy theory that its part of Barty propaganda- Barty never won 4 slams, let alone career GS, but she won it on 3 differnt surfaces, so people invented "surface slam" to pretend that she achieved some kind of (non existing) milestone... NEVER heard about surface slam pre-Barty...

As for this thread, the answer is pretty obvious. Would have been more interesting if Sabalenka had closed the deal this year at RG and we would be debating who is more likely to win first: Swiatek in Melbourne, or Sabalenka at Wimbledon. There's a good chance Sabalenka doesn't do the career slam. She has limitations on both clay (not patient or savvy enough to work the points to their conclusion, and can hit herself off court) and grass (her big swings break down when rushed, and she doesn't move well on grass).

Neither, but who wins the most majors is still not over
Sabalenka won 3 of the last 4 hard court majors and if she wins the AO, she will be 1 behind

Really? When Iga was a point away this year from reaching the final? Aryna is a different story since she was sorta kinda close at RG but Wimbledon just a semi with no MP

I think Iga gets the Career Slam first, but I also think Saba achieves it. Hopefully, Iga and Saba can get it before the end of their careers: both are very deserving.

Iga is still very young, I would be surprised if she doesn't get it by the end of her career. If she retires at 32, she still has 9 more AOs to play. I think she capitalizes on at least one.

Sabalenka is more difficult to predict as she is already 27, but I think she'll get it. She has all of the weapons to win both: and she's gotten quite close. She's the world number one for a reason. She's still consistently getting to semifinals, and I think she can win both if she continues her consistency for a few more years.

neither :p

jk, for many obvious reasons, Swiatek is more likely. We'll have to see some changes in Sabalenka's game or some divine luck in order for her to win both at RG and Wimbledon. Her hard court finals record is great, but her clay finals record is not good, despite winning 3 madrids (her only clay titles). She also has zero grass titles, 2 finals.

After many years of watching tennis, what I have noticed is that players look like they are on a certain course and then it can stop very quickly

In 2003, I didn't think Henin's last GS title would be in 2007

In 2001, it seemed unthinkable that Venus wouldn't get the career slam

In 1997, Hingis won her first grand slam title at 16 years old. Absolutely nobody would have expected that her last GS singles title would be in 1999 or that she would never win RG

At the moment, you look at Swiatek in particular and think she's so young still, she looks so fit and determined, how can she possibly not get there? But it happens again and again unless you get a true all time champion like Serena or Navratilova or Evert.

Sabalenka and Swiatek both are very competitive. So I expect they will be battling for #1 all of 2026 and beyond
But I dont see a career grand slam
I see a battle fo weeks at 1 and majors won and they both might get to 8 majors
