Well then I suggest to Venus she takes an extra minute to stretch out her muscles or something, because she's been injured her whole career. Another annoying habit of certain pro athletes, for Christs sakes I've played at least two sports at a time, rigorously, since i was 5 years old and haven't sustained a single pulled muscle.
Obviously you aren't playing at a high level like she is, or practicing and training as much either. She is making her living off of tennis. She loves the game and plays very hard at it. When you give your all things can happen. By the way, you are very lucky not to have pulled a muscle, but the Williams were not as fortunate. So should this be held against them??

OMG, he thinks he has the athletic ability, and faces the daily pounding of his body at the same level of Venus Williams??

Now, that's funny.

To even compare playing a sport at 5 years old, to that of a level of 20-30 year olds is ridiculous.

Pro-sport is never healthy.

71/12 is less than six matches per month, and I said they play five matches per month. You're the one who has shit flying out of their mouth infiniti, because I was right as it turns out. :)
Hmmm I will let this insult fly this time- because I know what will happen if I respond. Anyway, PLEASE keep in mind what you posted about yourself on the non-tennis board a couple months ago before using the words shit and mouth in the same sentence in the future :tape:

This has to be one of the most ridiculous posts I have read in awhile. To compare casual play to a professional athlete? Right.

Venus was not bad for frequency before 2000. I think when she won Wimbledon and the US Open she may have thought that inactivity had helped her, when it was primarily a slight decline in Martina and Lindsay coupled with Venus improving her mental game.

Dude! you are so bitchy! You must be ugly or something. There is something behind this anger of yours other than low self esteem.

and since you are not on the pro level why would you sustain an injury? Keep playing whatever you playing, you'll lose that song to.

But it's not only them to blame, tennis players are the most spoiled, bratty athletes anyway with the easiest, most luxurious season of any sport.
Are you out of your fucking mind?! Luxurious season?! Tennis players dont have an off season! They go to Australia in January, have the indoor tournaments in February, Indian Wells/Miami in March, Amelia Island/Charleston in April, Euro clay season and RG in May, grass court season and Wimby in June..THEN after a couple of weeks off, they have the California circuit from Mid July-Mid August, US Open from late August-Early September, and then the indoor season from Mid September all the way to late October, culminating in the season ending championships. The players enjoy about 3 weeks off and then have to start training again for Australia in January.

Serena and Venus are SMART to not play that kind of a schedule. What's the point of playing 30 tournaments a year like Dokic or Likhovtseva when the fact is that when they were healthy, they could get to #1 and #2 in the world with Venus playing 16 tournaments that year and Serena about 13. Some players are more injury prone than others. The way Venus and Serena play take a tremendous toll on their body. Furthermore, you can't possibly compare playing a few days a week like you do with the grueling 5-6 hour a day practices professional tennis players have, not to mention playing on different surfaces throughout the year, not getting much sleep, jet lag, sleeping on a different bed every week, etc etc. It's fucking hard! I almost never criticize posters, but in this case you're just flat out wrong.

Please, I'm a very in shape young kid, I'd post pictures but I don't have any now because I changed computers, but since my friends have digital cameras I'll take one very soon and post it for your masturbating pleasure. And regardless of what 'level' I'm at, (which is better than Venus' but you can't compare sexes), none of the other top players save Mauresmo and Serena get injured as often, so I suggest a new personal trainer to her.

And regarding what I posted on the non-tennis board, he is either referring to the fact that I recently came out to my parents or he's talking about the pictures. The pictures were decent, the coming out was difficult, and if I recall infiniti was a jackass and invaded my personal life, but it was quite a while ago, so perhaps he would like to post here to remind us all?

Finally, tennis players have it the easiest, they travel around the country, are not required by coaches to practice every day (unlike the rigorous manditory schedule of other sports), can never be traded or fired, and only play, on average, a few hours of tennis per week.

For our masturbating pleasure? Don't flatter yourself sweetheart. If I ever want to think about somebody when I want to masturbate, I'll take Rob Thomas thank you very much.

Furthermore, tennis players play far more than a few hours per week. As far as actual on court match time at tournaments, you're right. But they practice a couple of hours each day during tournaments and then 5-6 hours on off weeks, not to mention a couple of hours of off court training during those off weeks. They also lead extremely discliplined lives. You won't find them at the club on Friday night (cept for Capriati of course lol). They have to be very careful about what they put into their body, get lots of sleep etc.

While a player can never be traded or fired, the results they have on court determine the type of lifestyle they live. That's even more stressful. This isn't like the NBA where you can get paid a shitload of money to be a benchwarmer. All that traveling (airfare, hotels, meals) and coaching costs about $50,000 a year. They need to make that just to break even. You don't do that by losing in the first round of these events.

Lastly, while they aren't REQUIRED to practice, you can bet your ass they will be. If they don't put in the same grueling practice the other players do, their ranking will drop damn fast. You don't get to the very top by playing "a few hours per week"

Fact: women's tennis players cannot compete with male tennis players who are either excellent high school players, juniors, or college players.

I'd love to see you play her. She'd tear you apart 6-0 6-0. ;)

Anyone on this board who even thinks they have a chance against Venus is that delusional.

Could you beat Martina as well??

Truly pathetic.

You can't possibly sit here and say any good high school or junior player can compete with the very best women. I play #1 on my high school team and have a very good record but if I went and played WTA tour level events, I would get raped. It wouldn't be close. Hell I'd be lucky to qualify for a 10K. I'd probably have to travel to the ones in Ethiopia or some other remote country to pull that off, and even that would be a stretch!

As far as college level, the very best in NCAA Div I can beat the top women. Besides the men who make the NCAA Championships, I wouldn't put money on a college player beating someone like Venus. If you could get a game off Venus, let alone a match I'd be in shock.

Are you fucking kidding me? Even Wertheim has supported my case before. I'm faster and stronger than Venus and, yes, Serena and, yes, Martina and would defeat any women's player you throw at me. Merely being a good highschool player isn't good enough but I don't claim to be merely good, and you must be joking about college tennis. Perhaps you should go to the college of new jersey and check out their #1 player Marc Hill, who has a pretty good record but plays for a D3 school, not D1. He can serve 120+ and would blow Venus off the court 6-1 6-1 at his very worst.

You don't claim to be merely good? What arrogance. Do you have a ranking of any kind?

I'm not a USTA member. And there are certain things to be prideful about, and athletics is numero uno in my book.

I mean, I'm all for "girl power" or whatever, but a truly good highschool player for any sport beats a professional woman at any sport. Basketball particularly, football obviously, soccer surely, tennis definitely, track without a doubt, and baseball (comparing it to softball) for sure.
