I agree with TBE...give Pitu another year and we should be able to give a more accurate assessment on where she's heading.
I think she definetly had a bit of a let down year considering she was the #1 junior, but she probably felt the pressure of that and maybe it got the best of her. Hopefully she will shine through and pick up some bigger results next season.
As for Gisela, she's done really well at the challenge level this year, that should be a good confidence boost for her next year. Should have no trouble bringing her ranking up further next year with the opportunity to play more events.
Neither. There will only ever be one gorgeous Gaby. It's not really fair to expect Dulko or Salerni to match her achievements. I mean Gaby was #3, a grand slam singles and doubles champion and won loads of tour titles. I don't think either of these two are capable of that. They may have solid careers but they won't match Gaby. No one is the next anybody. Too much was expected of Anke Huber to be the next Graf and the same thing is at work here.
mirjana fan, yes i and all knows what GABRIELA SABATINI is only one, as steffi, monica are only one....but , the question is who can have a carrer similar to gaby from argentina. For me this players have a great future the two, but for me "la pitu" have more talent ( baseline play, net play, good serve) and gisela is great too, but is only power.
jomar, jeje tes, i watched to eleni, is a gret player and will be better in the future
about salerni have very much bad luck this year, so good luck for the 2002
salutes, argentino
thank´s for the replys
