Some big talents never made it to the top.

And on the other side some less talented players were more successful than expected.

Which career was the biggest surprise?

Anna Kournikova has got a lot of talent! I guess she's one of the most underrated players because everybody keeps saying "She never won a WTA-title"!

But: Isn't it better to reach a Grand-Slam-semi or the Miami-final than winning a Tier-IV-title in Kuala Lumpur??

I got to admit that there might be a gap between her success on- and off-court but she still has been a very good player! And: She won a lot of titles in doubles and even was number one!

Her doubles resume has been impressive. I guess we're talking about singles though.

If we're talking tennis talent, I agree on Kournikova.

If we're talking T&A, then of course she has mega talent.

@ TV Tennis: We are talking about talent. And I guess Kournikova proofed her skills in doubles (and singles anyway)... ;-)

earlier years S&V could get away with having absaloutly no brain-game and shitty technique all around, and still get quite high.
BSM is the most recent one that comes to mind.

i reckon Lisa Raymond is also not too breathtaking on the singles court.
