I don't blame him at all. He tried to help women's tennis. But the lack of support of the tour by some top players frustrated him. Running the WTA the past few years was supposed to be the highlight of his career. Well, if he was enjoying running the WTA, he would have stayed. Why does the WTA, in comparison to the ATP, have a second rate television contract? The WTA has better personalities and greater sex appeal. Right? I think so. Do the petty jealousies and gossip help or hurt the tour? Some say it helps. But I don't know. The Williams sisters, as spectacular and talented as they are, have never made the full time committment to the tour, that Evert, Navraltilova, Graf, Seles and Hingis have. Why is that? Finally, is the WTA tour as strong and fruitful as it should be? The answer is no. Why is that?
