Ostapenko winning Wimbledon and Olympics
It would certainly be good next season to see more of the players being competitive who should be competitive. Ostapenko is good to watch, Kasatkina, and other players back that can get some interest like Azarenka and Kerber...

Serena in slams finals

More Serena vs Pova matches

Bot or Keys winning a slam
Serena going deep in tournaments is still okay for some spotlight on matches, but mainly to get to know the others up and comers... It's time for others to take the torch. Pova, sure just because any extra spotlight is good for women's tennis, but her big winning days are over.

1) Which matchups on the court would you like to see?
Andreescu/Osaka, Kasatkina/Barty
2) Which big stories?
The biggest stories are that Serena, Federer, Nadal & Djokovic are some of the greatest players ever, and even though they all have huge wealth, they are still motivated to add to their legacy. Serena and Federer are 38, so enjoy while you can!
3) Which records would you like to be set or broken?
I would like Nadal to get to 25(not in 2020, but maybe 2024) so Court doesnt have the all time record
4) Who do you want to see winning/defending titles?
I want to see Andreescu defend Rogers Cup. Canadian tennis with Bianca, Felix & Denis is heading to a great time
5) Which player(s) would you like to see win a first/big title/major?
Pavlyuchenkova
6) Who do you want to see on the Olympic podium?
Kasatkina
7) Who do you want to see make a big comeback?
Wozniacki, autumn of 2020
8) Who will make a big rise or big fall in the standings?
Wozniacki will fall a lot

9) Which other predictions would you like to make or think can happen?
I can see a new #1 like Svitolina
10) Other discussion/drama for 2020?
The biggest is Serena at 38 and will Nadal catch/pass Federer's 20. We will never see players like this again. There is too much money and offcourt opportunities for successful players. I am amazed Federer could have that good a Wimbledon and Serena a good US Open at their ages.
Serena played maybe her best tennis in her comeback in NY 2019 until the final. Federer at Paris & UK was 2nd/3rd best player at those majors

Matchups: Andreescu/Barty, Andreescu/Niculescu (I wonder if Andreescu can deal with Monica's tricky game), Rybakina/Kvitova, Osaka/Bencic
Stories: seeing which way the careers of Kasatkina, Kerber, Venus, Kristyna Pliskova, Gauff are going. Biggest story is probably the rise of Gauff and the return of Andreescu
First major title for Gauff, Rybakina, Muchova
Olypic podium: Osaka/Bencic/Sevastova

1. Matchups:
Barty-Kvitova: always tantalising
Rybakina-Halep: clash of different playing styles is very exciting as demonstrated in Dubai
Anisimova-Sabalenka: has Sabalenka got the game to beat Anisimova
Svitolina-Karolina Pliskova: Pliskova won their first five matches, then Svitolina the last four: Is the improving Svitolina proving unstoppable for Karolina
Bencic-Osaka: why is Naomi struggling so much against Bencic having lost their last four encounters
2. Big stories:
the rise of Gauff
emergence of exciting new players like Rybakina, Swiatek, Kudermetova and Tauson
what form will Andreescu be in when she comes back from her injury break
good runs for Bertens and Sabalenka at a Slam
Pavlyuchenkova reaching a Slam semi
most importantly a Slam win for a Chinese player to make tennis popular again in China, so success for Zheng, Zhang and Wang
all these are of course overhadowed by the story of the coronavirus outbreak whcih means question marks about the date of all tournaments and issues with rankings, livelihoods of lower-ranked players and many other things
3. records: Serena's 24
maybe the youngest Slam winner since Hingis(Gauff)
can't think of other record that could be broken
4.players to win/defend titles:
assuming season starts off with US Open:
would be nice to see Andreescu lift the trophy again and Kvitova, Svitolina and Wang in the mix too
Peterson had an unexpected surge towards the end of the year which would be nice to see (Tianjin and Jianxi), also Osaka in Osaka and Beijing
not mant titles left before the end of the year, so a strong finish for Sabalenka and Bencic is on the card too
Svitolina to win WTA Championships again
5.first big title/major
Gauff obviously (US Open, possibly, not so much the French)
Jabeur and Brady both had promising start to the year so it would be nice if they could win their first title during the Asian swing
6.no Olympics
7. comeback:

Clijsters, Zvonareva and secretly Sharapova and Ivanovic
8. Risers and fallers:
Risers: Gauff, Alexandrova, Cabrera, Brady, Jabeur
Fallers:Muguruza, Vondrousova, Putintseva and Ferro
9. no other predictions or drama

the only thing i want to see is the W.T.A. back in some form before the end of 2020.

don't care less about match ups, titles, or drama etc. for the rest of the year. virus permitting, just getting some tennis would be great.

December 3 2019

** Monica Puig gets into Olympic MD and defends her Olympic Gold.

** Gauff reaches the 4R at all four Slams.

** Kenin (AO), Anisimova (FO), Riske (Wimbledon), and Keys (USO) are all GS Finalists in 2020.

** Serena gets the 24th in a third set for the ages.
What an awesome prediction - and quite possibly the only one that's needed if the US and French Opens get cancelled.

Matchups: Gauff-Halep: Gauff could be a serious thorn in the side of Halep with her game style.
Svitolina-Sabalenka: they have played each other once so far, could be a great rivalry
Kvitova-Kenin;why does Kenin struggle against Kvitova, I have no idea
Risers: Alexandrova, Rybakina, Gracheva, Tauson
First big major: Gauff, Sakkari or Xiyu Wang
