A month ago, I read somewhere that the ITF has decided that, instead of a third set, a tie-break will be played where the winner needs 10 points for victory.
Will they use that rule a some low challengers or what ?
They had to go to it for the mixed final at the US Open. The crowd seemed a bit bewildered. The goal seems to be to "get it over with" as soon as possible. After all, why should the crowd be subjected to another set featuring 4 people who actually know how to volley? (Sarcastaround™ )
I'm in favor of the tiebreak at the end of the final set, not instead of it.
