Since the tragedy in the United States last month, Amy seems to have withdrawn from every event....Anyone knows if she plans on coming back soon ? I might be the only one who really care about her but any info would be appreciated !

Thanks

I have not heard that AMy has retired at all. She had a lackluster year up to the U.S. Open but has seen her ranking jump back up to the top 40.

She might still have some good tennis in her yet.

Bradshaw#1 told us that Amy reported that 2001 US Open was her last. But, Amy entered some Oz warmup (Gold Coast???), so I guess she plays on for now. :)

It's rumored she is going to retire after the 2002 US Open...

But I feel it's impoosible for her (a top 50 player) to participate in a 50K chanllenger!!!

if that´s close to her hometown or whatever and she´s good friends with organizers, why not. even dokic and others played sarasota when it was still a challenger, I think.

it´s great that amy continues.

she is one of the last classic baseliners.

due to the september 11th tragedy (it´s believed it was due to that) she skipped the final part of 2001 and that led to her not having the best circumstances for a brilliant year (seedings etc.) but she re-climbed the top50 this year.

I think she wants to do some damage on hardcourts again, a big upset which she lacked 2002. that might be wants she is looking for 2003.

When I talked to Amy, she seemed pretty upset with her year. She said "the results just aren't coming this year. Usually by this time I have a big win or a good tournament showing and it just isn't happening." Maybe the US Open was the one tourney that gave her a kick in the ass to keep going for a bit more. I certainly would like to see it happen:)
