I am almost 58. In my club I don’t have the possibility to play inter club (is this the right expression?) tournaments in my age class, so I have to play against younger players. The problem is of course that in single I am just too slow, so I don’t have many chances against good players. I am quite fit and in better shape than most people of my age, but this is not enough against people 30 years younger than me. In doubles I still can win using my experience and helping my partner to play intelligently. I often practice with young players , and it is quite frustrating to see that the guy who you was beating last year is now winning because he gets a little bit better, so his better footwork is now deciding the game. Do you experience the same problem?
