Mine was 2000 wimbledon Venus Vs. Martina, and they said that Venus finally beat Hingis in a GS. I think thats why I like her now becuase that was the first match I saw!!

I can't remember which tournament it was, but it was Spring time (maybe March or April) 2001. Yeah that was pretty recent, but I only started tennis last year and I REALLY got into it after this year's Wimbledon.

Anyway, the match was between Hingis and Capriati. It was really exciting and I remember being really amazed at the things they could do with the ball and on the court. I think Hingis won that match, but I don't remember if I just left it when she was winning because it was late in the night, or that she really won the match.

Martina Hingis against Dragomir (I think!?!) at the 1999 French Open.

Then I watched Barbara Shwartz upset Venus at the same tournament.

I've been following Venus and Martina ever since. I watched the final w/ Hingis against Graf! Talk about a match! That was what got me hooked on tennis.

It was the 1982 Italian Open final, Chris Evert defeated Hana Mandlikova 6-0, 6-2. I was 7 years old and I was fascinated by that lady who simply couldn't miss a ball.

Wimbledon Final 1974. Chris Evert won her title over Olga Morozova. I saw it on a small black and white tv, and I was 6 years old. I watched Connors lose to Arthur Ash the following year I remember, but that was on a colour tv. Now I feel ancient.

These were all in the early 80's sometime....

Austin def Navratilova 16 76 76 at US Open. Can just remember Martina crying after the match
Barker def Goolagong, NSW Open
Navratilova def Goolagong, NSW Open

Can recall which one was first, but I would've only been 8 or something!
