I know a lot of people (specially Germans) hated this show, but I Must say that I find it quite entertaining, despite some of the criticism being warranted.


Yeah, there are a few clichés and it's completely unreal to the point of being a bit laughable (reminds me of Luther in this aspect). But I have a weak spot for stories with a lot of subplots connected to eachother (which this shows does a lot and quite well I think).

Engaging Rabelaisian historical satire, created by the screenwriter of The Favourite.
Have to put in another word for this show, which is fantastic. Both brilliantly witty and tremendous fun, deeply cynical, yet essentially optimistic. It takes a lot for me to get into a period piece these days but this one is more than worth it, plenty of high and low humour, but emotionally honest and politically savvy enough to give it all some edge and real resonance. As the titular Catherine Elle Fanning's name is sure to come up once Emmy nominations are being considered.
