Interesting -- as Eggy mentioned, only the women have retired sick in this event, the men have been fine.

It's probably something similar to what happened this year in Indian Wells -- a stomach virus circulated among the players.

Sopot, Poland (Sports Network) - Patty Schnyder of Switzerland and Anna Pistolesi both moved into the semifinals, but top-seeded Anastasia Myskina was upset on Thursday at the $300,000 Idea Prokom Open.

The second-seeded Schnyder never stepped on the court en route to earning her place in the last four. Schnyder won via walkover after her opponent, sixth- seeded Maja Matevzic, pulled out before the match due to an illness.

Schnyder will next take on the third-seeded Pistolesi of Israel in the semifinals. Pistolesi defeated seventh-seeded Dinara Safina after the Russian, who was the defending champion, retired in the third set. Pistolesi was leading, 6-7 (7-9), 6-1, 4-1 before Safina had the match stopped due to a heat illness.

Myskina was not as fortunate as she also retired in her quarterfinal match against eighth-seeded Petra Mandula. The Hungarian Mandula was ahead 6-4, 3-0 when Myskina put an end to the match, citing an illness.

Mandula will battle unseeded Klara Koukalova in Friday's semifinals. Koukalova of the Czech Republic blasted Jelena Kostanic, 6-1, 6-0.

I think that the women have been messing with the same guy and they all got sick at the same time. Lets hope they didn't pregnant and turn the wta into something like "Jerry Springer" affair.

Time for Maury to return to reveal who the baby's daddy is........

Nastya had somth.wrong with her head from the very beginning.
Then she feel she couldn't play.
No wonders.
Study the polish & it'll be OK.
