She is one of the most successful and promising juniors of nowadays. She was runner-up at the US Open 2001, in many Grade A and 1 events, won the Banana Bowl (Grade A event in BRAZIL )

Has anyone ever seen her playing? What do you think of her? When I watched her, I really got impressed, cause she doesn't look that tall but she can really smack the ball any time she wants.

I hope Svetlana keeps playing well in the juniors and starts well in the pros, cause the number of good junior players who didn't turn into big players on the Pro is amazing (Chanda Rubin, Anna Kournikova, Miriam D'Agostini, and many others..).

GO SVETLANA! WIN THE ORANGE BOWL THIS WEEK

Sveta was also runner up in Paris to Kaia Kanepi.

her fav surface is clay , now she is getting coached by Emilio Sanchez.

She's a baseliner and she can crack the ball very hard, she can also volley as well and is a pretty good doubles player.

Her forehand is her big weapon , but her BH isn't too bad either.

She will make top 100 next year , also she is mentally very tough.

I watched her match at wimbledon against Baltacha

She got a huge forhand and great backhand. Her first serve can be good but her second serve isn't that good shes strong physically and mentally and she looked like a good defender.
Her only weakness i saw was when she came to the net otherwise she was great!

I saw her beat Widjaja at US Open. She is extremely impressive, belts a huge forehand and is built like a sparkplug so she possesses both blistering groundstrokes and excellent movement.

As many of you have said, she also is quite adept at net. She can play and win on any surface. She is also very fiery and excitable! I'm sure she will be Top 20.

I just wanted to point out that Anna and Chanda have both been ranked in the top 10, so I don't think that they have been unsuccessful pros.

Just compare Chanda's carrer to Martina's...

Both of them were very successful tennis juniors, but only Martina turned into a very successful tennis pro. Anna Kournikova is the same thing.

Other great juniors who became great pros:
Amelie Mauresmo, Justine Henin

Chanda not a successful pro??
She did reach the semis of AUSOpen 1996, semis of Indian Wells 1999, defeating Hingis, Amanda and Conchita in her way, also I think she won Linz, (if she didn't she lost on finals.). Also Chanda is one of the most talented player of WTA. Anna also, made the finals of Miami, Moscow, and semis of Wimbledon 1997, and she is very talented. Anna was injuried, she is just coming back to her rythym, soon she will be that Anna of years before.
I just wanted to say that both player have very success when they are playing. And you can't even compare Martina with Chanda and Anna. Cause Martina was number one, and a lot of Grand Slam title. Chanda and Anna made the top 10 at least.
Their juniors carrer must had been great, but I guess they did enough, and still have a lot of things to gain, on singles. U'll see, to have a better carrer on PRO, that in juniors..
That's my opinion

I mean they have a worse pro career then in juniors, when they kind of dominated.

It seems like Svetlana is a good all around player. She has good size. The ITF juniors website lists her as being 1.74m tall and weighing 67 kilos. Udachi Sveta!

P.S. - NejedlyKanepi, does that girl in your class know you have put her photo on the internet?
